Working From Home – The New Norm
If you have found yourself working from home for the first time ever this year, you are not alone. While some individuals thrive in a WFH environment, it can take some time to get used to it.
Here are a few tips to help you be successful working from home.
1 – Perfect environment – Have a designated area for working. While working on the couch or from bed might sound cozy, it’s not ergonomic and will ultimately kill your efficiency, not to mention your neck and back! If you have a designated work area it will help you be more organized and separate work from home.
2 – Set a schedule – While it can be tempting to sleep in when WFH, it will kill your productivity. Set a schedule and stick to it, this includes a quitting time too. Don’t forget to schedule breaks during the day. Breaks will help keep you from getting burned out. You will be much more productive if you have a schedule rather than working when you wake up until you fall asleep again.
3 – Check your tech – If you are now using your cell phone as your main line for work, make sure to check your plan. Does it include international calls? How fast is your internet? You don’t want to be on a Zoom call with a huge prospect and have your internet fade in and out. Consider upgrading your phone and internet plans while you are working from home.
